Better Well Cementing for ALL

The Leading Online Support Hub for Better Oil Well Cementing.

Our Mission

Our Mission

As oilwell cementing specialists, we work on-site as part of an experienced drilling team. We are always comfortable in the knowledge that we have some of the best brains in the business. We have people with decades of experience working all around us. Someone in the team can usually answer any question or challenge that might come up.

Learning from more experienced people

For rookie or lower level floor crews, there is a wealth of experience to be gained from superiors. People who will have done the same jobs and experienced the same things many times in the past. As we move up the hierarchy, there are fewer people to ask. The Senior Drilling Engineer, Rig Manager or Head of Cementing might need to go outside of the rig crew for help. Sometimes we need to collaborate with our peers, who may not be at the same company as we are.

As we leave the Industrial Age, we are experiencing huge knowledge leaps as we embrace the Information Age. Thanks to the internet, we can teach ourselves and expand our core competence. There is no substitute for practical experience, but off-site learning and on-site knowledge can go hand in hand.

Whether you are at college or have 40 years of cementing experience under your belt, there will be times where there is something new to learn. There will be new challenges where it will help to bounce ideas off of people who have experienced different challenges to you.

The best online well-cementing resource

This is the reason why Better Well Cementing For All was created:

To establish an online cementing resource that is free and accessible(*) to anybody looking for well-cementing support(**)

The average person has access to more information in their pocket than Presidents of countries had at an ordinary meeting 20 years ago, even with all of their advisors. This is astonishing, and it is a result of the internet, and smart phones. Every problem that we face in life has been experienced by other people in the past.

How many times do we struggle with a decision or a solution, then when we realize what to do, it seems so obvious? These epiphanies happen to all of us, in our private lives as well as in business.

Sometimes we have already learned something, but need a memory trigger, or for details to fill gaps in our recollection. Nowadays there is less emphasis on teaching facts by memory, and more emphasis on being a critical thinker and an agile problem solver.

In the future, when well cementers have a problem or need to review details about something that they have already experienced or studied, they might go to their smartphone. An internet search result will show https://better-cementing-for-all.org and then they will find the information that they need, a few clicks away.

We aim to build the most significant and best online resource for well cementing. In addition to that, we will consult in a 1-on-1 private manner. At the same time, we plan to build a community.

Sound good?

We appreciate your visit and your support, and we hope that you visit on a regular basis.

(*) This site is free to use however it carries some cost. The Better Well Cementing for ALL team would appreciate your support with a monetary contribution through PayPal (link on the right).
(**) All requests will be treated as private and confidential. Only the submitting person can give us the authority to initiate Group Collaboration. (To invite selected individuals to assist with a particular request). Or blog-mode (the request will be posted and open to all site members to provide feedback).

 Background

The primary function of this site is to provide a private consulting resource. These private conversations will then be turned into a public resource if the information: a) Can be presented without divulging private information, or b) With the permission of the person who posted the question and asked for support.

The existing online resources for oil industry technical topics or specialities tend to be public. They require a simple free registration or no registration at all.

The available sites or forums where people ask open questions to an audience or group of people present the following disadvantages:

1. Some people might not feel comfortable with posting public questions.

2. Forum members could use the blog to promote themselves, products or other services.

3. The discussion might not stay on the topic of the initial request.

4. The initial request might not get answered correctly or at all.

This resource is initially intended to help individuals looking for support on well-cementing topics privately. As the website grows, it will provide public Q&A’s guides and helpful articles.

Following the loss of my job in 2016 after a 20 year long career at that time, I started to post in LinkedIn, a series of 'Cementing Challenges' to keep ours minds 'active' around our beloved topic of well Cementing. This interaction with our community and their reaction to the 'challenges' was a fruitful learning experience, but to be honest it wasn’t enough to fill the space this downturn has left by keeping me away from the 'action'. This inspired me to go further not abandoning my passion in Cementing, but to dedicate a web site to well cementing and helping people.

How I survived the 2016 Downturn and the current difficult times?

In 2016, I launched Better Cementing for All. Now, I want to keep it alive.

For more than 24 years, I have worked in oil well cementing, offering my services to some of the largest oil corporations in the world and committing myself to excellence. I have mastered my role, and in doing so, I have accrued a skill set that is extremely valuable to my fellow professionals. Eager to do whatever I can to help them, I have owned and operated Better Cementing for All since 2016.
Let me tell you what Better Cementing for All does and what it means. A resource for all oil industry professionals and for cementers both established and prospective, this is a non-profit resource that I established in order to do nothing but serve and make an impact on people who are looking to build careers for themselves in cementing.
From primary cementing to remedial cementing to plug cementing to post-job results, I do it all, and I am comfortable answering in-depth questions about each and every one of these topics. I also offer tools and tips for jobseekers, general self-development advice, and guidance for equipment choices. TO put it simply, this is the go-to spot for anyone who wants to know anything about oil well cementing.
The problem, however, is that covid-19 has made the structure of the website seem untenable. I am trying to juggle the work that I do and my non-profit initiatives and finding it all unhealthy and unsustainable. I want to keep Better Cementing for All up and running, but to do that, I need your help.
