Remedial Cementing with Coiled Tubing (animation)

Remedial Cementing with Coiled Tubing (animation)

Though I am far from being an animation expert, during my training courses I have always wanted to show my students a video with the complete sequence of the coiled tubing cementing process.

Recently, I finally found the time and “patience” to make that very video. This will be part of a full post on the topic, but I’m putting it here now as a kind of preview in the hope of receiving your feedback.

This video is for just for you, my visitors, so please help me to make it better with your constructive comments.

What did you think? Did you like this animation showing cementing with coiled tubing? Do you want to see more content like this? If so, please let me know what you would like to see and I’ll do my best to get it online. It doesn’t have to be about cementing with coiled tubing – anything related to the content on this website is fair game!

If you are a student or a teacher yourself, I also recommend the Youtube channel Engineering Animations, they have lots of great, easy-to-understand videos on various engineering concepts which can be useful for reinforcing your knowledge.

Finally, it only makes sense for me to continue making content and keeping this website running if it continues to receive your use and support.

Show your support here

All the best,

L. Diaz

    Lenin,

The presentation was first-rate – well done. Yet, in real-world situations, there is always the unforeseen variable – be it human error, equipment failure, or downhole problems that arise, and no matter how well a presented job was – it quickly goes pear-shaped.

    Lenin,

Since the period when we had the pleasure to work together on a well campaign with extremely challenging well integrity issues, I have always respected your professional opinion on such matters.

Sharing this knowledge with a global audience takes time and expense which is often underestimated in our modern world where data access is considered to be a free resource. Rarely is the effort appreciated or truly rewarded.

While there is doubt that the oil and gas industry must transform, I do sincerely hope that the temptation to ‘dumb down’ isn’t the chosen path. Professionals like yourself have a part to play in the most effective method of cost discipline, which is beyond doubt delivering work the right way, the first time around.

Please do keep up your excellent work on contribution to a better industry.

    Lenin,

Great illustrative video, this shows for sure the basics of execution, but it is important to mention that the success of a CT cementing job is 90% preparation, make sure the slurry is good, keep low viscosity to achieve good pumping rates through the small CT ID, the other 10% is communication among the crews on location.

Thank you for this great initiative and the videos.

In 2016, I launched Better Cementing for All. Now, I want to keep it alive.

For more than 26 years, I have worked in oil well cementing, offering my services to some of the largest oil corporations in the world and committing myself to excellence. I have mastered my role, and in doing so, I have accrued a skill set that is extremely valuable to my fellow professionals. Eager to do whatever I can to help them, I have owned and operated Better Cementing for All since 2016.
Let me tell you what Better Cementing for All does and what it means. A resource for all oil industry professionals and for cementers both established and prospective, this is a non-profit resource that I established in order to do nothing but serve and make an impact on people who are looking to build careers for themselves in cementing.
From primary cementing to remedial cementing to plug cementing to post-job results, I do it all, and I am comfortable answering in-depth questions about each and every one of these topics. I also offer tools and tips for jobseekers, general self-development advice, and guidance for equipment choices. TO put it simply, this is the go-to spot for anyone who wants to know anything about oil well cementing.
The problem, however, is that covid-19 has made the structure of the website seem untenable. I am trying to juggle the work that I do and my non-profit initiatives and finding it all unhealthy and unsustainable. I want to keep Better Cementing for All up and running, but to do that, I need your help.
