During February in 2001, as a young cementing engineer with high expectations, I was finally in for the advanced cementing training in Schlumberger. (After a long delay due to the 1998 downturn.)
During the training, a professor called Hussain Rabia was appointed to deliver the Geology and Pore pressure course. To be honest, at that time I was utterly unaware of Dr. Hussain Rabia’s excellent reputation in drilling and well control.
I finished the practice, and 14 years later my young Iraqi apprentice was arriving from his drilling engineering training. He was delighted and proud that Dr. Hussain Rabia had been his training instructor. I immediately, remembered the name and asked my dear apprentice, Who is he? And He proudly said: Dr. Hussain Rabia is our pride.
And indeed He is.
